History

Named after George Waters Leeming, a Surveyor in the Department of Lands who surveyed this district in1886. In 1901, he was acting Surveyor General but died the following year at the age of 43. The suburb of Leeming was established in the late 1970’s. Many of the street names in Leeming are taken from the 1972 Planning Department document on Original Landowners.
